Who am I
I’m Allie Wilkinson — an executive coach, organizational consultant, and founder of Walden Leadership. I’ve spent more than two decades helping leaders and teams navigate the moments that matter most: the decisions, conversations, and transitions that shape how people work together.
People often tell me I bring a mix of calm, candor, and curiosity to my work. I listen closely, ask questions that shift perspective, and help leaders see what’s happening beneath the surface — the patterns and dynamics that influence how they show up. My goal is simple: to help people change in a way that serves them, their teams, and their organizations better.
Why I Do This Work
Leadership is demanding. It stretches you, challenges you, and asks you to grow in unexpected ways. I’m drawn to that inner landscape — the part of leadership that is invisible on dashboards or org charts. The pressure. The doubt. The desire to do right by your people. The moments when you’re unsure what comes next.
I do this work because I believe leadership is a human practice — and it matters more than ever. When leaders get stronger, teams grow. When teams grow, organizations succeed. And when organizations shift, the people inside them thrive.
My Path Here
Before becoming a coach, I spent 20 years inside complex organizations in roles that shaped how I see leadership and systems. I led internal consulting, organizational development, communications, and strategy functions. I’ve redesigned divisions, evaluated alliances and mergers, turned around struggling teams, and helped leaders navigate high-stakes change.
I started my career in management consulting at The Advisory Board Company, advising hospital and health system executives. Later, at Blue Cross Blue Shield, I led enterprise change efforts and served as a senior advisor and chief of staff to the CEO, COO, and CTO. Those years gave me a front-row seat to the realities of leadership — the intensity, the politics, the ever changing priorities— and I bring that understanding into every coaching and consulting engagement.
I’ve always been interested in the messiness of human nature. I studied developmental psychology at Cornell University and was a crisis hotline counselor while there. I have my MBA from Northeastern and was certified in leadership coaching at the Georgetown Institute for Transformational Leadership.
I live in Greater Boston with my family who are my greatest teachers and often can be found by a lake, on a mountain, or in my garden.
Why I Founded Walden Leadership
Leadership is a human practice. It deserves space, attention, and care.
I created Walden Leadership to offer something different--I wanted a place where leaders could slow down, think deeply, and explore new ways of leading — without jargon, without pretense, and without pre-baked solutions.
Walden is intentionally boutique. I lead most engagements myself, and when the work calls for it, I bring in trusted partners — experienced coaches, consultants, and facilitators who share my values and approach. We’re a collaborative, not a hierarchy. Our work is tailored to what your organization needs.
We help leaders and teams navigate the moments that matter — the decisions, conversations, and transitions that shape how people work together.
When leaders expand their perspective, new possibilities open — for themselves, their teams, and their organizations.
Holistic Solutions
Our work blends coaching, facilitation, and organizational insight to help you see what’s possible, strengthen how you lead, and create the conditions for your team to thrive. When people shift how they see themselves and each other, everything else begins to shift too.
Lasting impact
Walden Leadership partners with leaders and teams who want to grow in ways that feel real and sustainable. We help you navigate change, strengthen your presence, and build healthier, more connected ways of working.
